Smokin' Mary

Jalapeño Bloody Mary

We hear Matthew Quigley, Distiller & Founder of Federal Distilling Room confided this Bloody Brilliant recipe to Mary over Bloodies in a dark bar. The esteemed mix of Stateside Urbancraft Vodka is infused with jalapeño peppers, then combined with classic ingredients and freshly squeezed citrus. Bright taste. Smokin' bite. Just the way Mary likes it.

How to make it

Vodka Infusion: 7 days
Servings: 1

  1. For jalapeño-infused vodka, stir the vodka and the jalapeños in a 1-liter container. Seal and store in a cool, dark place for one week. Strain contents through a standard paper coffee filter in a funnel. Store in the original vodka bottle.
  2. For Federal Distilling Room House-Made Bloody Mary Mix, stir the vegetable juice, horseradish, Worcestershire, Sriracha, lemon juice, lime juice, black pepper and celery root into an 80-ounce container and stir.
  3. Pour 2 fluid ounces (about ¼ cup) of the jalapeño-infused vodka and 6 fluid ounces (about ¾ cup) of the Federal Distilling Room House-Made Bloody Mary Mix into a 16-ounce cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover and shake for 10 seconds to chill. Pour the mixture and ice into a chilled 16-ounce glass tumbler.
  4. Serving Suggestion: Garnish with a halved celery stalk, a strip of crisp bacon and a skewer with 2 blue cheese-stuffed olives and 2 Zayda’s Brand pickle chips. If desired, replace jalapeño-infused vodka with regular vodka.
