This coveted cocktail comes from Society member, Rob Kristof of Cincinnati. Sweet, spicy, sour, and salty – this iconic spice blend is a true treat for the taste buds. Enjoy this Mary during game day as a perfect pairing to your chili and good cheer.
Ingredients
4 ½ fluid ounces (3 shots) V8® 100% Vegetable Juice plus 2 tablespoons for rim
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 ½ fluid ounces vodka (1 shot or 3 tablespoons)
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1 pinch ground allspice
1 pinch ground nutmeg
1 pinch ground cloves
1 pinch ground cinnamon
How to make it
Servings: 2
For the rim, pour 2 tablespoons vegetable juice onto a plate. Stir the cocoa powder, chili powder and salt on another plate. Dip the rim of 1 glass into the vegetable juice then coat with the cocoa powder mixture. Fill the glass with ice.
For the drink, add the remaining vegetable juice, vodka, hot sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire, black pepper, allspice, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon to a cocktail mixer. Cover and shake to mix. Pour the vegetable juice mixture into the glass.
Serving Suggestion: Garnish with a skewered grilled hot dog, Cheddar cheese cubes and a dill pickle.
